Children’s Intro to Dressmaking

August 27, 2016 @ 9:30 am

£0.01

The Vintage Girls are back!

This session is for older children or those whose parents are happy to stay as we will be using the Vintage Singer hand crank machines in the workroom to make very simple a line skirts.

The children will bring their fabric and use a pattern to cut the pieces for their skirts. They will learn how to pin and sew a seam and also double hem their skirts and add a waistline which they will thread through elastic.

If there is time they can add a decorative ribbon or ric rac to finish their skirt.

This is a fab class where the children learn real dressmaking skills they can then use for future projects.

*You will need to bring a metre of cotton fabric of your choice. You don’t need to bring anything else*
